SABBATICAL RAINFOREST CONSERVATION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN BRAZIL

Brazil Amazon Project

JOURNEY: Brazil
PURPOSE: Conservation & Sustainable Development
DURATION: 4 weeks, departing 2nd June, 29th September 2008, 12th January, 8th June, 28th September 2009
Help us to protect the threatened Brazilian Amazon, by creating a sustainable eco-village for the communities that live there. An utterly unique experience taking you into the depths of the jungle.

Join ABRA – The Amazonian Bio-regional Village - in developing ways to work in harmony with the natural environment, so as to have less of an impact on nature. Within the reserve your help is required to build a much needed infrastructure, to meet local basic needs, such as education, healthcare and the provision of livelihoods, to assure the survival of this unique eco-system and the people who make it their home.

Set on the edge of virgin Amazon Rainforest, work alongside specialists in environmental education and organic agriculture, to find social, productive and energy alternatives and create a model that can preserve the forest for future generations.
