Get involved in conservation work in the South African Bush wnd work with communities to help their understanding of conservation issues.
Swaziland's game reserves offer a unique combination of big-game country, green valleys and soaring escarpments. Just over a decade ago, Swaziland's wildlife was close to extinction. Poaching and an increase in population has put these protected areas and their wildlife under mounting pressure.
Swaziland is one of the poorest countries in Southern Africa. Affected by the highest HIV rate in Africa, it's communities are desperately in need of support to help improve educational and health facilities. It is also essential to gain the trust and support of the communities to ensure they understand the importance of conserving wildlife.
The aim of the Project is to develop and protect the game reserves in the northern Lubombo Conservancy, by including the local communities, so that these important conservation areas and their wildlife can be preserved for the use of future generations.
You will spend half your time camping out in the heart of one of Swaziland's finest game reserves working on conservation management projects. The other half of the project will see you working closely with local communities, from building classrooms for orphaned children to designing environmental education centres to teach children about the importance of conserving the wildlife around them.
