Quest Sabbaticals

SABBATICAL: TRAIN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY IN MALAWI

Vocational Tutors - Lilongwe Wildlife Centre

JOURNEY: Malawi
PURPOSE: Train-up a new workforce
DURATION: Min. 2-3 months
Train local Malawians to take on new roles in Teaching, Marketing and Administration.

Lilongwe currently has a small zoo facility, but due to a lack of resources the animals are neither well fed nor cared for and educational value is very limited.  It is only for a small number of well wishers that the animals remain fed.   Enclosures remain dirty, bare and in a state disrepair.  A new and modern approach to animal welfare and wildlife education is now needed in Malawi and you can help make this a reality.

Working together with the Malawi Wildlife Centre, this Project aims to develop a self-sustaining, ‘People and Wildlife’ wild animal rescue and education centre that promotes an understanding of animal welfare, wildlife conservation, environmental protection and humanitarian issues and actively engages in wildlife release and conservation programmes. It will also provide a sanctuary home for the animals from the  zoo when it closes.

Skills required: Teaching, marketing or administration experience
