Quest Sabbaticals

SABBATICAL: AGRICULTURAL TUTOR IN EQUADOR

Agricultural Tutor - Yachana

JOURNEY: Ecuador
PURPOSE: Teaching young adults
DURATION: Min. 4 weeks
Teach agriculture, forestry management and conservation skills and increase the chances of survival of the communities of the Amazon rainforest

The placement gives you a fascinating insight into the unique way of life of the communities of the Amazon rainforest.

By working in conjunction with FUNEDESIN (an Ecuadorian NGO dedicated to supporting the communities of the Amazon basin), Quest Sabbaticals volunteers are able to work towards the long term goal of rainforest conservation with the preservation of both the traditional and new ways of life that exist among the Amazon communities.

Quest Sabbaticals placements form just a part of the long term plans managed by FUNEDESIN. Apart from the actual hands-on work carried out by volunteers, the mere fact that you have travelled all the way from the UK to Ecuador to live and work alongside the communities helps to instil the global importance of the rainforest to its inhabitants and the various ways of life it encompasses.

Skills required: Good command of Spanish
(Quest Sabbaticals can arrange a Spanish course if required)
